Boss Tweed
William "Boss" Tweed had some of the greatest influence on politics during the Gilded Age. He controlled Tammany Hall in New York City, which was the home of the Democratic political machine. Being a ruthless politician, he quickly made a fortune off of New York, robbing nearly 200 million dollars from the city. He was notoriously for election frauds, bribery, and controlling congress members.
